How Adrian Palmer trading as Be A Good Driver uses personal information.
This notice explains what information is collected, why it is needed and how long it is normally kept.
Adrian Palmer trading as Be A Good Driver, 1 Redhall Avenue, Edinburgh EH14 2HP, Scotland, United Kingdom. Email: beagooddriver@googlemail.com. Phone: 07908 923 211.
Enquiry and pupil information can include your name, address or pickup location, phone number, email address, postcode, licence type, driving experience, availability, lesson bookings, payment information, practical-test details and lesson/progress notes. Adrian checks driving licences where needed but does not normally keep a copy or record the licence number.
Information is used to respond to enquiries, decide whether a lesson can be offered, arrange and provide tuition, manage appointments, keep lesson records, take payments, meet tax or legal obligations, deal with complaints or disputes and request a review after tuition. General marketing messages are not sent to former pupils.
Depending on the activity, information is processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, to perform a lesson contract, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate business interests such as keeping proportionate lesson records and dealing with disputes.
Enquiries submitted through this site are sent by email rather than stored in a separate website enquiry database. Adrian also uses Gmail, his phone and Google Calendar for day-to-day administration. Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and Cloudflare Turnstile is used to reduce spam. If the production enquiry function uses an email-delivery provider, that provider will process the form contents only to deliver the messages.
Enquiries that do not become pupils are normally kept for up to 12 months after the last contact. Active pupil information is kept while lessons are ongoing. A limited former-pupil record may be kept for up to five years after the final lesson where reasonably needed for lesson history, payments, complaints or disputes. Tax and accounting records are kept for the period required by law. Relevant information may be kept longer where a live complaint, legal issue or insurance matter requires it.
UK data-protection law gives individuals rights which can include access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection depending on the circumstances. Contact Adrian using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you remain concerned about how your information is handled.
This notice should be reviewed whenever the website, enquiry process or business systems materially change.
