Clear booking, cancellation, payment and safety terms for driving lessons with Adrian Palmer.
An enquiry is not a confirmed lesson. A booking is confirmed when Adrian agrees the date, time and pickup arrangements. New pupils may be asked by text or email to confirm that they have read and accepted these Lesson Terms before the first lesson.
Current prices are shown on the Prices page. Payment is accepted by cash or direct bank transfer. Adrian does not currently take online payments or deposits through this website.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson. If less than 24 hours' notice is given, the full booked lesson fee remains payable. Genuine emergencies may be considered at Adrian's discretion.
If a pupil cancels an entire block booking, one normal lesson is charged. If a pupil stops before using all booked hours, lessons already taken are recalculated at the current normal hourly rate (£45 at the time these terms were prepared) and the remaining unused balance is refunded. Block-booking hours do not have a fixed expiry but are subject to future price changes.
If Adrian has to cancel, the lesson will be rearranged or any payment for that lesson refunded. No additional compensation is payable. If Adrian is late, the lost time will be added to that lesson or a subsequent lesson where practical.
The lesson still finishes at the pre-arranged time. A late arrival does not extend the booked lesson.
Adrian may refuse or end a lesson if he cannot communicate safely with the learner or reasonably believes the learner is unfit to drive because of alcohol, drugs, medication, illness, fatigue or another safety concern. Where the issue is attributable to the pupil, the lesson fee remains payable and is not refunded.
Use of the tuition car for the practical test is charged at the normal lesson rate. Adrian may refuse use of the car if, in his professional judgement, the pupil is not ready to drive all required road types, situations and manoeuvres safely without coaching.
Where consumer law gives you a statutory right to cancel a service contract made at a distance, those rights are not affected by the 24-hour lesson policy. If you specifically ask for lessons to begin during a statutory cooling-off period, you may be required to pay for services already supplied before cancellation. Adrian will provide or link to these terms in a form you can keep.
Raise any concern with Adrian first so it can be addressed promptly. This does not affect any right you have to use relevant consumer or DVSA complaint routes.
